LAKE NUNUNGAN is one of the highest lakes in the Philippines with an elevation of 5,306 feet above sea level.
Lake Pantar or also known as Lake Nunungan sits on the foot of Mt. Inayawan — surrounded by lush mountains with cold weather and its hospitable Muslim settlers near the lakeshore.
Lake Nunungan is a protected land area and is located in the heart of the Municipality of Nunungan; a mountainous area of Lanao del Norte, and around an hour's journey from Kapatagan.
You can experience the lake's charm through swimming, kayaking, and enjoying its unique Maranao food. It’s a perfect getaway to have a relaxing place for your weekends at Lanao del Norte.
If you wish to visit this majestic lake, better to top up Nunungan’s tourism office for a perfect travel guide.
Ps. My visit was arranged by LGU and Lanao mountaineering group through the Kalilintad climb event.
Shukran, Nunungan!
